BIRNAM WOOD’S TOO MARVELOUS FOR WORDS

“Gryffin” is a Golden Retriever stud that lives in Dallas Texas. He is AKC pointed and half way to his conformation Championship. Gryffin is OFA CHIC as is the majority of his pedigree.

Birnam Woods Too Marvelous for Words (Gryffindor aka Gryffin) was bred by Silvia Donahey-Feeney the founder of Birnam Woods Golden Retrievers in Coati California. Sylvia was a well known figure in the Golden Retriever world for many decades and was well known for being dedicated to improving the breed before her passing in 2024. She always worked towards not only good conformation in her dogs, but also great personalities and the best possible health. We were so fortunate to get a puppy from one of her last litters.

Gryffin comes from an impressive line of champions.

Griffin’s sire (Boca Gold’s Order of the Phoenix- call name Albus) is a grand champion and also from an amazing breeder. Sylvia told me she’d been very impressed with their dogs over the years. They show in conformation and in hunting.

Albus has honors including finished with 3 majors from BBE; and 9-12 class winner ‘18 National. He was best in show multiple times, best in specialty show multiple times, holds a junior hunter title and a show dog hall of fame title.

Gryffin’s sister also earned her Grand champion show and junior hunter titles.

Gryffin was shown for a few months and placed well. He consistently placed 1st in his class and won reserve dog consistently. He won best in breed, and a 4th in sporting group. He is half way to his championship title which we hope to finish in the near future.

Gryffin is goofy and playful, easy to train and loves everyone he meets. He loves attention and of course is food motivated. He loves to sleep on the bed with the kids almost as much as loves to swim and chase tennis balls. Gryffin is owned and loved by Jamie and her family in Dallas Texas.
